Job Description The accountant is responsible for the general ledger month‑end close of a portfolio of accounts, which includes reviewing and following up on monthly financial results with field locations and the GL team lead, preparing general ledger entries as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy for month‑end close; generating and reviewing operating statements; comparing actual results to the budget, investigating and explaining variances, analyzing key accounts, identifying unusual transactions, and verifying adequacy of reserves and accruals.
Job Responsibilities
Ensure deadlines for month‑end close and financial reporting requirements are met and all accounting and reporting activities are performed in accordance with the organization’s accounting policies and procedures.
Review newly executed contracts or amendments to validate that financial systems are set up appropriately.
Ensure that opening and closing packages are accurate and completed in a timely manner.
Verify customer invoicing to ensure billing is in accordance with contractual terms.
Follow‑up with field operations to resolve contract matters and issues.
Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations of selected asset and liability accounts for accuracy.
Compile all supporting documentation for balances in these accounts.
Maintain and monitor applicable SOX controls and support internal and external auditors.
Participate in testing of SOX processes to ensure accounting controls operate effectively.
Support internal and external audits by providing audit schedules, analysis, and responding to inquiries.
Participate in ad‑hoc special projects by supporting management and project teams in various tasks.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 1–3 years of relevant experience in a full‑cycle accounting function.
Strong analytical and technical accounting skills.
Proficient in Excel.
Experience with ERP accounting software, Oracle preferred.
Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel.
Experience managing field accounting activities from a central location is preferred.
Ability to work under limited supervision to resolve complex issues.
Strong organizational, communication, and multi‑tasking skills with good business judgment.
Team player, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
Ability to perform complex or highly technical accounting tasks and functions.
Excellent communication with internal and external parties, including other regions, customers, vendors, and internal accountants.
