Essential Functions
Business Planning & Account Leadership
– Use digital tools and data‑based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy & tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
Selling
– Deliver clear and compelling messages to customers, probe needs, handle objections, and close calls with commitment to action to drive behavioral change.
Customer Development
– Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals.
Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise
– Gather and validate key trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
Reimbursement
– Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics, anticipate payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) and address them using Lundbeck resources.
Pharmaceutical Environment/Compliance
– Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory environment, including adherence to Lundbeck policies, procedures and FDA regulations regarding promotion of pharmaceutical and medical products.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences from an accredited college or university.
2‑5 years pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales experience.
High score on disease and product training exams; annual product knowledge certification.
Self‑starter with strong work ethic, tenacity, and outstanding communication skills.
Adaptability and collaborative teamwork in a fast‑paced environment.
Problem‑solving and analytical skills to identify solutions and overcome obstacles.
Data‑analysis skills to develop short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with business objectives.
Must live within 40 miles of territory boundaries.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record; driving is an essential duty.
Meeting industrial credentialing requirements of healthcare providers / customer facilities.
Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and move items up to 25 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Successful experience selling to general practitioners (GPs) and primary care centers.
Experience promoting products specific to CNS/neuroscience.
Experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions).
Travel
Willingness/Ability to travel up to 30%–40% domestically to meet customer base and internal personnel within assigned territory; attend internal/external conferences and meetings.
Salary & Benefits Salary range: $108,000 – $125,000. Eligible for sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible paid time off (PTO), medical, dental and vision coverage, 401k with company match, company car, and more. See the U.S. career site for additional benefits information.
