Essential Functions
Business Planning & Account Leadership
– Use digital tools and data‑based insights to create opportunities, develop strategy and tactics, allocate resources, monitor progress, and adjust direction to maximize sales performance.
Selling
– Deliver clear, compelling messages to customers, probe needs, handle objections, and close each call with a commitment to action.
Customer Development
– Build and maintain productive internal and external relationships based on customer needs and organizational goals.
Local Market & Therapeutic Area Expertise
– Gather and validate key market trends, map account linkages, and apply therapeutic knowledge to uncover and prioritize unique opportunities.
Reimbursement
– Stay informed on reimbursement dynamics and address payer access issues (IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) with Lundbeck resources.
Pharmaceutical Environment / Compliance
– Apply knowledge of pharmaceutical and regulatory environments, adhere to Lundbeck policies and FDA regulations.
Required Education, Experience and Skills
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
2–5 years experience in pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biologics, medical device sales or related healthcare sales.
High performance on disease and product training exams, including annual product knowledge certification.
Self‑starter with strong work ethic, tenacity, and outstanding communication skills.
Adaptability – embrace change and collaborate in a fast‑paced team environment.
Problem‑solving – proven analytical skills to identify solutions and overcome obstacles.
Data analysis – strong computer and technical skills for analyzing data to develop short‑ and long‑term goals aligned with business objectives.
Residence within 40 miles of the territory boundaries.
Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record (driving is an essential duty).
Meet and comply with reasonable industry‑standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers / customer facilities.
Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and move items up to 25 lb with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Recent documented success selling to general practitioners (GPs) and primary care centers.
Experience promoting and detailing CNS/neuroscience products.
Experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co‑promotions).
Travel
Willingness/ability to travel 30%–40% domestically to meet/interact with customers and internal personnel within the assigned territory; attend 4–8 internal/external conferences and meetings per year.
Compensation and Benefits Salary Pay Range: $108,000 to $125,000 plus eligibility for a sales incentive target of $39,000. Benefits include flexible paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, company‑match 401(k), company car, and additional benefits available on the career site.
