Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Revenue Cycle Manager - Coding, oversee the daily operations of the medical coding team and ensure adequate staffing and coverage.
Ensure compliance with clinic policies, government regulations, and industry standards while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary environment.
Improve coding processes, safeguard patient information, and serve as a key contact for internal and external inquiries.
Facilitate training for department staff required to meet quality and production standards.
Perform and supervise audits of coded medical records for accuracy; compile, analyze, and present data related to coder performance, documentation issues, and charging errors.
Provide expert knowledge of coding standards (ICD‑9‑CM, ICD‑10‑CM, PCS, CPT) and support coder and provider education.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or at least 5 years of medical coding experience.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory coding experience.
Nationally recognized coding certification required; AAPC certification strongly preferred; Epic certifications a plus.
Prior EMR EPIC experience required.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and multitask effectively.
Excellent attendance and work ethic.
Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
Ability to communicate professionally with patients, physicians, and other team members.
Commitment to patient‑focused care, privacy, and safety.
Salary $80,478.31 - $120,717.47 per year (based on experience and credentials).
Workdays Hybrid/Remote location. Must live in Portland or the SW Washington area to come on‑site as required. Typical hours: Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM‑5:00 PM.
