Strittmatter Companies is a well-established site development, excavation, and utility contractor serving the entire Metropolitan D.C. area. We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of hands-on experience operating large construction equipment in the fieldsuch as dozers, excavators, and loaders.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (dozers, excavators, loaders, etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Follow all company and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
• Take proactive measures to avoid potential hazards, including other workers, equipment, or utility lines.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and report issues promptly.
• Execute grading, excavating, loading, and material movement tasks as directed.
• Secure and store equipment safely at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy construction machinery.
• Strong understanding of job-site safety and equipment operation protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively with crew members and supervisors.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and background check.
