Medical Office Assistant Location: , New York, NY 10019, United States Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours/week)
Key Responsibilities: Assist in patient care activities including: Performing venipuncture and/or EKGs Checking schedules and organizing patient flow Preparing examination rooms and assisting patients with mobility or dressing Collecting and processing specimens and point-of-care testing Taking vital signs and relaying instructions to patients and families Support physicians during procedures as needed. Perform administrative tasks such as: Sending and receiving patient medical records Managing lab, radiology, and hospital reports Completing forms, requisitions, and maintaining charts (manual or EMR) Enter medical orders into the EMR system and prepare prescription refills for physician approval. Manage medical inventory, restock supplies, and ensure all medications are within expiration. Maintain examination rooms and sterilize instruments per infection control standards. Ensure compliance with all safety, legal, and institutional policies. May assist with: Scheduling surgeries or procedures Registering and scheduling patients Verifying insurance information and pre-certifications Performing phlebotomy and EKGs as required
