Certified Phlebotomy Technician Lab Assistant II

Position Overview: Collects blood specimens, receives, handles and processes specimens for laboratory testing. Interacts with patients of diverse backgrounds. Receives, sorts and accession specimens, assigning to appropriate pre‑analytic and analytic workflows. Completes computerized tasks related to patient registration, test order entry, specimen collection, receiving and processing. Performs basic post‑analytic tasks such as distributing reports and storing/retrieving specimens. Completes quality‑related tasks including documentation, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and monitoring pending work with escalation of priority work. Operates basic pre‑analytic lab equipment and adheres to all regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure privacy and safety.
Education
HS Diploma: High School or General Education Diploma (GED)
Certification & Licensure
- CPTI‑Certified Phlebotomy Technician I
- CPT II‑Certified Phlebotomy Technician II
Experience
1 year recent relevant experience

- Ordering laboratory testing
- Collecting blood specimens
