The Human Resources Specialist works directly under the Director of Human Resources to support the department’s mission of fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Job Summary

The Human Resources Specialist is an integral member of the HR team at the facility, supporting the HR Director, Generalist, Recruiter, Leadership, and Employees. The role coordinates department activities, manages administrative tasks, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Provide professional and customer‑focused communication with employees, visitors, and non‑employees, utilizing constructive problem‑solving techniques.
  • Serve as the receptionist for the Human Resources Department, handling in‑person and telephone inquiries from employees and visitors.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of facility HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation to meet current standards and policy requirements.
  • Perform routine administrative tasks for HR programs, including disciplinary matters, investigations, performance and talent management, recognition, morale initiatives, and training and development.
  • Administer the facility badging system, including badge photo capture, badge ordering, and related logistics.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional during emergency situations and high‑stress environments.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Associate Degree preferred.

Licenses / Certifications

  • None required.

Experience

  • Two to four years of Human Resources or related business‑related experience.
