Hennig is hiring: Assistant Production Supervisor in Machesney Park

Responsibilities

• Leads, oversees, & manages projects, leaders, & staff in department. Solves production flow problems, follows up on recuts/andons/missing parts (expediting).
• Leads Daily Management board. Follows up on issues and fixes root causes.
• Assures labor balancing is done daily; minimizes indirect labor. Production planning and scheduling for department; meets or exceeds company tact times.
• Ensures parts & tools are available and on-time to work cells.
• Identifies/requests tools and shop supplies; submits to Production Manager for approval.
• Hires, fires, disciplines, and rewards production employees.
• Manages production organization, safety, & 5S.
• Manages overtime and labor costs/scrap reduction.
• Ensures product quality; works with Quality department on check sheets and guarantees timely corrections to quality issues & root‑cause analysis.
• Coordinates with other shift operations.
• Maintains accountability for continuous training of staff; sets training goals and meets them.

Requirements

• Education: Minimum High School Diploma.
• Training: Leadership, basic office software products.
• Skills: Ability to read blueprints; team‑leader with motivation and guidance toward project completion. Must be solution driven and able to provide solutions to project roadblocks. Excellent communication & interpersonal skills required. Leadership and project‑management skills.
• Experience: 1+ years in manufacturing leadership.
• Other: May be subject to high noise level from operating machines, moving equipment, machine parts oils/cutting fluids & dust.
