Job Summary

Under general supervision, this position supports the manufacturing production process with focus on the design, development, and implementation of new or revised production processes for the efficient and economical fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies. This position supports the machine shop specifically.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides manufacturing engineering support to GA‑EMS programs/projects such as missile defense systems, lasers, advanced sensors, and advanced technology development.
  • Supports planning, scheduling, and execution of manufacturing activities required for machining and integration of components into complex systems.
  • Receives and routes Non‑Conformance Reports for disposition.
  • Creates and maintains manufacturing bills of material, work instructions, and routers.
  • Provides input to material masters to flow down requirements and tracks material procurements to support manufacturing activities.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequences, and processes for fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Conducts tests throughout production stages to determine control over applicable variables and troubleshoot and resolve moderate‑scope manufacturing problems related to CNC machining.
  • Designs sequence of production operations, specifies procedures for fabrication of applicable tools and equipment, and adapts machinery.
  • Collaborates with product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Estimates manufacturing costs and determines time standards.
  • Ensures production processes and procedures comply with regulations.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Documents findings and solutions and communicates results to staff.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Observes all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Works safely in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field and at least two years of manufacturing engineering experience (equivalent experience may substitute).
  • Detailed understanding of CNC machining and troubleshooting of machining problems.
  • Experience with work holding, material movement while machining complex aerospace structures.
  • Good understanding of GD&T.
  • General understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theory, with experience demonstrating application while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with SolidWorks modeling and drafting preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Project; MS Teams experience desirable.
  • Experience with SAP and Windchill desirable.
  • Able to learn new concepts quickly and apply accurately in an evolving environment, organizing work to meet timetables.
  • Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as part of team.
  • Customer focused, self‑initiated, able to work extended hours and travel as required.
