CLMI Group, LLC is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Electrical IT Inspector to join our client's Quality Assurance & Construction Inspection Division across multiple projects within the client's Capital Improvement Program. Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems and IT infrastructure to ensure compliance with applicable standards.

Review technical documentation, such as blueprints and specifications, to verify accuracy and compliance.

Identify and document any discrepancies or deficiencies in electrical installations and IT systems during inspections.

Provide recommendations for corrective actions to address identified issues or non-compliance findings.

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to discuss inspection results and follow-up actions.

Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

Stay updated on industry standards, codes, and regulations related to electrical systems and IT to ensure best practices are followed.

Perform inspections of electrical installations including, but not limited to:

Underground utilities and duct banks

High-voltage switchgear and electrical panels Conduit racks, conductors, and grounding systems

Interior and exterior lighting systems

Fire life safety systems including smoke/heat detectors and FM-200 suppression systems Electrical shutdowns, lockout/tagout procedures, and breaker coordination

Inspect IT infrastructure installations such as:

Low-voltage systems (voice/data, security, access control)

Door card readers, security cameras, and public address (P.A.) systems

Communication cabling and equipment rooms

Requirements

High school diploma (or equivalent)

3 years or more of experience with airfield lighting is required.

Electrical/IT inspection staff shall have 3 years or more experience performing electrical/IT inspections for Building Construction.

Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector

Proof of NFPA 70E standards training within the last 3 years

Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years

Training & knowledge of NFPA -70, 70E, & 72.

Fall protection and harness training.

*Successfully hired candidates must have client badge prior to official start.

*Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’s construction schedule.

Hardware/Soft ware Knowledge

Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Xcel, Word, PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.).

Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, with minimal supervision.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience at the journey-level as an electrician, with a focus on the installation and repair of electrical systems in public works, institutional, commercial, or industrial settings.

Experience overseeing and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations on significant construction projects.

Involvement in complex projects that require coordination with multiple stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and city officials.

Expertise in identifying and addressing deficiencies, ensuring that all aspects of construction meet the required standards.

Must be open to learning the prescriptive items required by the agency.

A strong understanding of diverse code requirements.

Excellent communication and time management skills.
