Position Summary

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for receiving at Building #1, putting inventory away, and pulling materials and staging for the machine shop floor. This role involves material transportation, warehouse organization, and safe operation of forklift, box truck, and other company vehicles as needed. The ideal candidate should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently in a team environment, and experience driving box trucks.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management: Receiving and stocking material in the warehouse in an organized and safe manner. Cycle counting for inventory audit.

Inventory Transportation: Loading, transportation, and unloading of material and parts between Lexair facilities.

Pulling Material and staging for Machine Shop: Retrieve necessary materials from inventory for machine set up including raw materials and fluids.

Packing Assembled Products: Prepare and pack machined parts for shipping, or for transit across the street, ensuring secure and proper packaging to avoid damage during transit.

Problem-Solving: Collaborate with peers and supervisors to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and resolve problems.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives, offering suggestions to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace by following company policies and safety regulations.

Team Collaboration: Work effectively with team members, fostering a cooperative environment to meet production goals and deadlines.

Computer and ERP system management: Ability to scan or enter materials into the system accurately.

Other: Other duties may be required as assigned by the Company. May eventually cross train for coverage of Inventory Control Specialist Activities in the Assembly department.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications: Drivers License required. Forklift Certification Required.

Experience: Prior experience in inventory control, receiving or manufacturing, or a related field is . Must have at least a year of forklift experience, preference for 3-5 years of forklift experience, with safe operations history.

Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical skills .

Detail: Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality work with attention to detail and accuracy.

Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn new processes and techniques.

Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to shared goals. Willingness to chip in wherever needed to ensure seamless machine shop operations.

Computer/Software: Ability to use Gmail and share point. Ability to use an ERP system, and complete data entry, run general reports. Ability to use Excel and create basic spreadsheets.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

Work Environment: The role is performed in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial materials.

Physical Demands:

Ability to stand, bend, and work for extended periods.

Ability to lift and move parts or equipment weighing up to 75 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

Manual dexterity is required for operating tools and handling small components.

Must be able to easily turn neck/head for forklift operations.

Must be able to climb into and out of forklift safely.

Safety: Must adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
