Summary: We are seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic to join our team in Silverdale, WA. The Forklift Mechanic will diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including forklifts, pallet jacks, aerial boom lifts, and scissor lifts.
Key Responsibilities: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on forklifts, pallet jacks (2,00070,000 lb. capacity), and other MHE. Dismantle and reassemble equipment to OEM specifications and Navy standards. Inspect and repair electric, diesel, propane, or gasoline-powered MHE and related systems. Troubleshoot and repair drive trains, hydraulic systems, brakes, and electrical systems. Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed. Research and identify replacement parts for order. Maintain tools, documentation, and adherence to all safety and operational procedures.
Qualifications: Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a forklift, MHE, or heavy equipment mechanic in commercial or government settings. Strong knowledge of electric, diesel, propane, and gasoline engine systems. Skilled in diagnosing electrical and computer-controlled systems. Must provide personal hand tools appropriate to the trade. Valid state drivers license with acceptable record. Ability to lift 50 lbs and work effectively in a team environment. Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to meet physical and security requirements.
Preferred: Experience maintaining and repairing aerial boom and scissor lifts.
