As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating a 30-ton Taylor Big Red forklift to transport pipes and materials in outdoor environments. This role involves safely moving suspended loads using chains, adhering to proper rigging techniques and safety protocols. You will learn to read and interpret work orders to accurately locate and move shipments, perform routine inspections, and conduct basic maintenance on the forklift to ensure safe operation. Additionally, you will operate the forklift both in an outdoor warehouse and outdoors, maintaining awareness of your surroundings and ensuring the safety of other employees. Your role will also include assisting with general labor tasks, such as cleaning and organizing the warehouse.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 30-ton Taylor Big Red forklift to transport pipes and materials.
- Safely move suspended loads using chains, following rigging techniques and safety protocols.
- Read and interpret work orders to accurately locate and move shipments.
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on the forklift.
- Operate the forklift in outdoor environments, ensuring safety.
- Assist with general labor tasks, including cleaning and organizing the warehouse.

Work Environment
This position is with an outside manufacturer of 'manholes' in a non-climate-controlled environment. The work environment is loud, dirty, and primarily outdoors. You will be expected to work over 10 hours of overtime per week, with occasional mandatory Saturdays with a three-day notice.

This is a Contract position based out of Summerville, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
