Key Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, graders, and skid steers to move earth, materials, and equipment. Drive and operate commercial vehicles (e.g., dump trucks, lowboys, flatbeds) to transport equipment and materials between job sites. Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Load and unload materials safely and efficiently. Read and interpret plans, blueprints, and grade stakes to complete projects to specifications. Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines. Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as needed. Communicate effectively with site supervisors, project managers, and other team members. Maintain accurate logs of equipment operation, fuel usage, and transportation activities. Qualifications ~ Education: High school diploma or GED required. ~ Experience: ~2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in construction, excavation, or related fields. ~ Experience transporting equipment or materials preferred. ~ Licensing: ~ Valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record. ~ Any additional equipment operator certifications a plus (e.g., NCCER, OSHA, MSHA). Skills & Competencies Proficient in safe operation of multiple types of heavy machinery. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and load securement practices. Ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual labor as needed. Extended periods of standing, sitting, climbing, or operating heavy machinery. Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or travel as job demands.
