JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsible for preparing, staging, and loading outbound shipments per customer requirements. Verify that all products are labeled, packaged, and documented correctly prior to shipping. Perform inventory transactions using RF scanners to ensure accurate recordkeeping of all outbound materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for maintaining 5S standards in the shipping area Prepare shipments according to customer schedules and specifications Pull and stage loads in designated shipping lanes Verify bar codes, part numbers, quantities, and labels before shipment Load trucks safely and efficiently per customer and carrier requirements Complete required documentation and system transactions for all shipments Assist with unloading or moving return dunnage as needed Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely Communicate with Team Leaders, Supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow Cover dock areas during breaks/lunch as needed Be cross-trained in other job assignments to assist during vacation or absence coverage Communicate pertinent shift information during shift change Perform any other duties as assigned by Team Leader or Supervisor REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:
6 months experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment Previous sit-down forklift experience preferred Self-starter with strong organizational and multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet shipping deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good problem-solving skills High School Diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lift and Carry:
Ability to lift up to 70 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds occasionally, including handling materials on and off forklifts. Standing & Walking:
Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk long distances on concrete surfaces. Repetitive Motion:
Capable of performing repetitive lifting, twisting, and scanning motions. Hand-eye Coordination:
Ability to operate forklifts and handle shipping controls safely and precisely. Vision & Attention to Detail:
Must have strong visual focus to verify labels, part numbers, and documentation. Physical Stamina:
Must maintain energy and focus throughout shift in a fast-paced shipping environment. Balance & Mobility:
Ability to maneuver in tight areas and safely operate forklifts in congested dock areas. Environmental Conditions:
Must work comfortably in warehouse and dock environments with fluctuating temperatures.
