Overview

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Investigates and determines scope, timing, and direction of crime and fraud investigations. Supports all security functions to maintain a safe and secure environment. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in engagement with combative or escalating subjects. Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or by analyzing records. Identifies case issues and evidence needed, based on analysis of charges, complaints, or allegations of policy/law violations. Records evidence and documents, using equipment such as cameras, photocopy machines, electronic medical records, access control systems, etc. Testifies in criminal justice proceedings concerning criminal activity investigations. Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum Experience:

Four (4) years general security, military, or other public safety experience required with two (2) years of experience in a related job requiring firearm use; two (2) years of investigative experience required.

Licensure/Certification:

None required by law.

Additional Qualifications:

Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (IAHSS) & Certified Advanced Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire; Professional Certified Investigator (ASIS) within two years of hire; pass psychological screening during pre-employment; periodic on-call availability; travel up to 50% to Piedmont facilities; active Georgia POST certification preferred; carry weapons as required (may be required to carry less-lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or an expandable baton); may be required to carry company-approved firearm; ability to meet all training requirements.

Education Preferences:

BS/BA in healthcare management/business administration, criminal justice, or related fields preferred.

Other:

May require to maintain all training requirements for lethal or less-lethal weapons.
