Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital

is hiring a

Registered Nurse Oncology Navigator

for the

Medical Oncology and Infusion Center.

This a Full time, day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. The schedule is 8-hour shifts Monday to Friday (36 hours a week). No nights or weekends.

The Oncology Nurse Navigator at Sentara Martha Jefferson Cancer Center,

you will serve as the primary contact for patients experiencing Head, Neck, and Lung issues, providing empathetic support and comprehensive education on cancer diagnoses and treatment options. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure seamless care by coordinating surgical schedules, performing insurance pre-authorizations, and facilitating timely access to appointments and tests. Your advocacy will empower patients by addressing their concerns, ensuring their voices are heard within the healthcare system, and guiding them to wellness and supportive care services. Ultimately, you will play a vital role in helping patients navigate their treatment journey from diagnosis to survivorship with reassurance and clarity.

OCN certified nurses in both the Infusion Center and Medical oncology clinic.

Infusion center has 25 chairs 14,000 provider visits per year 17,000 infusion visits per year- both oncology and non-oncology

Education

Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing required BSN or MSN Preferred

Certification/Licensure

Specialty certification required within one year of eligibility required- OCN or other Oncology Certification. Registered Nurse Licensure ONC certified RN preferred BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

3 years of Acute Care nursing experience required 1 year of navigator or education experience preferred Oncology Nursing experience preferred Head, Neck, and Lung Cancer experience Preferred
