Job Description Salary: $76K-105K Job Summary The Project Engineer position at Jim Myers & Sons, Inc. (JMS) is a vital member of the Business Unit. The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing projects from conception to completion. This role involves working closely with various stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and engineering teams, to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities

The Project Engineer has responsibility for project calculations, timing, and quality. Adhere to project schedule and specifications to meet the projects time objectives and milestones. Thoroughly examine project plans and specifications. Conduct detailed calculations including process calculations, structural calculations, and other technical aspects of the project. Write detailed calculation reports for project submittals. Work with external Professional Engineer (PE) resources to obtain necessary approvals and certifications. Obtain catalog cut sheets for project components and review them to ensure they meet design and project specifications. Conduct thorough internal checks of all drawings and designs before submission to ensure accuracy and completeness. Interface on technical issues with design, manufacturing, sourcing, and field installation Some travel to plant sites required for field measurements, installation support, and troubleshooting. Follow all JMS, Inc. policies and procedures.

Qualifications High level of

knowledge/experience

with applying engineering principals to electro-mechanical equipment High level of proficiency with completing engineering calculations

2 years of experience with the design of mechanical equipment, weldments, and assemblies 2 years of experience with 3D & 2D design and detailing with SolidWorks & AutoCAD a plus Ability to work effectively & efficiently with project team members on multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communication skills including the ability to negotiate positive outcomes. Experience with power transmission equipment including motors, gearboxes, chain drives, shafts & bearings. Requires a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook Desire to learn and to continue developing knowledge and skills.

Desired Experience and Skills Knowledge of fabrication processes such as bending, punching, welding, machining, etc. Experience with the municipal water and wastewater industry a plus Experience with material handling systems (conveyors and bulk storage) a plus Experience with Risa, Tekla, or equivalent structural design and detailing software Experience with FEA and/or CFD is a plus

Education Masters or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant field of engineering with equivalent combination of experience
