Job Description Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 Position Overview
KLEO Community Family Life Center (KLEO) is seeking a skilled clinician, supervisor, and administrator with extensive youth and family therapy experience to act as our Director of Clinical Services. This role is responsible for providing clinical leadership and policy direction for all outpatient treatment programs, maintaining accepted standards of medical practice throughout the facility, and providing administrative and professional supervision of all staff.
The Clinical Director will manage and organize all activities of KLEO's clinical services, including clinical administrative operations and ensuring compliance with grants, contracts, insurance panels, and clinical ethical guidelines. The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary team of trauma-informed professionals, including mental health clinicians, psychiatric providers, and other allied health professionals, to ensure evidence-based and trauma-informed service provision and coordination of services to all clients. The Clinical Director will uphold the mission and vision of KLEO, while supporting excellence and growth of clinical staff. This role also involves ensuring oversight in areas such as licensing regulations, legal and ethical regulations, clinical supervision, quality assurance, organization representation, contract monitoring, and billing requirements to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Client Services Conduct trauma-informed, evidence-based assessment and treatment services for children and families involved with the child welfare system, in accordance with KLEO protocols and programming. Ability to identify areas where we need organizational improvement and in the client experience and initiate the improvement measures. Direct triage and referral protocols and decisions. Manage, be accountable for, and improve the shelters client experience and ensure client satisfaction. May provide individual and family therapy as needed.
Supervision and Support Manage all members of clinical staff and ensure compliance with KLEO program protocols, policies, and procedures. Perform employee reviews and provide clear, direct, and supportive feedback. Provide regular individual and/or group clinical supervision to mental health staff and interns. Assist staff and interns with urgent clinical situations and provide supervisory crisis coverage. Create programming to regularly assess for secondary traumatic stress and support self-care strategies among clinical staff. Ability to handle and provide straightforward feedback to the leadership team members. Identify opportunities for training and continuous professional growth and development of clinical staff.
Program Management Provide oversight for the Outpatient Clinic and help ensure excellence in service delivery. Provide management for daily clinical operations. Develop and implement effective strategies to promote the continued growth of KLEO. Develop, update, and implement clinical procedures in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., HFS, DCFS, DFSS, IDHS). Improve upon clinical and administrative metrics. Ensure billing is in compliance with all applicable standards (e.g., OMH, Medicaid). Manage concerns relating to coverage, productivity, customer service skills, and workload expectations. Develop, implement, and manage policies and procedures to ensure quality services for clients and accountability for staff. Provide ongoing review and evaluation of the clinical program to ensure that client needs, agency standards, and funding requirements are met. Ensure that clinic meets all contractual goals and funding requirements. Ensure that staff documentation and client files are maintained in accordance with requirements set forth by agency policies, funding sources, Medicaid guidelines, and state and federal laws. Collaborate with administrative staff in grant writing and reporting. Ensure that clinical staff are maintaining fidelity to evidence-based protocols and procedures. Ensure all clinical activities are consistent with KLEO's mission, vision, and philosophy of care. Represent KLEO at meetings with community partners.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure Master's degree or higher in a mental-health related field. Registered Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and/or Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Current mental health licensure in the state of Illinois. Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) (if applicable to KLEO's intern program).
Experience A minimum of three (3) years of administrative management and clinical supervisory experience at an Adolescent Outpatient clinic. 5 years of director-level, leadership, and/or management experience required. 10 years of experience providing evidence-based mental health services to children and families required. Extensive clinical experience working with youth, families, and substance abuse. Strong knowledge of the Medicaid billing process. Credentialed with various insurance companies.
Skills & Abilities Advanced knowledge of standards and regulations governing community mental health services. Advanced knowledge and training in trauma-informed, evidence-based intervention and assessment models for children and families. Ability to build strong teams to meet performance goals. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to lead and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Collaborative and team oriented. Demonstrates strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meticulous attention to detail. Computer literacy required (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and data management environments). Willing to travel to support clinical and foundation activities (Approximately 10%).
