Summary
Conducts variety of electronic, mechanical, and environmental tests on Grayhill products to ensure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan and perform product reliability testing to meet customer and throughput requirements.
Read test schedule, test requests, production and performance specifications, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine testing procedure and equipment to be used.
Test functional performance of systems, subassemblies, and parts under specified environmental conditions such as temperature change, vibration, pressure, and humidity.
Monitor power at units and monitors output as needed.
Compare results with specifications and standards and record test data or plot test results on graph.
Prepare reports comparing test results with specifications and standards
Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
Confer with engineers, technicians, production personnel, and others regarding testing procedures and results and to resolve problems.
Verifies functionality of product during testing by using power supplies, mulitmeters, oscilloscopes and other test equipment.
Verifies test setup calibration prior to beginning all tests.
Interprets government, UL, CSA, TUV, CE, customer and Grayhill, products and test specifications as applicable to Grayhill, and other products.
Advise QC Lab Manager when a unit under test fails to meet specified performance requirements.
Coordinates and performs calibration and maintenance activities as needed.
Calibrate test instruments according to manufacturer's specifications.
Maintains Corporate Quality's EMAINT calibration and maintenance software system.
Operates x-ray equipment to determine root cause of failure.
Responds promptly to internal customer needs and responds to requests for service and assistance.
Pursues training and development opportunities; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
Or three to five years related experience and/or training
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
