Job Summary
The Fayetteville, NC Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting a Chief Gastroenterologist to assure effective delivery of GI care while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. You will provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, including specific GI clinics, GI procedures, and for inpatient medical, surgical, and critical care services. You will also provide feedback and patient education to the patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and order appropriate diagnostic studies and treatments for all GI patients under your care. Provide consultative evaluations for other services, including general medical wards, surgical wards, and the emergency department.
Compensation & Benefits Sign-on bonus is available! Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans up to $200K.
Annual performance bonus up to an additional $15K per year
Guaranteed salary increases
One full & unrestricted license from any state is permissible to work at VA
CME: $1,000 per year stipend & 5 days paid absence for conferences, etc.
Malpractice: Liability protection with tail coverage provided
26 Days paid vacation & 13 days paid sick time per year with unlimited carry-over
11 Federal holidays with pay
Federal Retirement Plan
Separate 401K with partial agency match
