Join Atlantic Health as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist in Florham Park, New Jersey. This position is part of the Department of Psychiatry at Morristown Medical Center and is based in a newly renovated outpatient office.
Job Description Atlantic Health, one of New Jersey’s largest non‑profit healthcare networks, seeks a Board‑Certified or Board‑Eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. The role blends traditional outpatient child and adolescent psychiatry with participation in the Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative Program—a grant‑funded initiative that empowers pediatricians to screen, assess, diagnose, and treat behavioral health disorders in primary care settings.
The Psychiatrist will provide direct patient care, including comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management for children and adolescents. The position also involves consulting pediatricians within the collaborative network, attending treatment team meetings, mentoring Advanced Practice Nurses, and collaborating with departmental leadership to ensure high‑quality care. The candidate will also support cross‑coverage at the main campus and participate in on‑call and per‑diem coverage as needed.
Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry with subspecialty certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
DEA registration and CDS certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
Committed to continuous learning and staying current with developments in psychiatry.
Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor trainees (e.g., Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and medical students).
Familiarity with federal and state standards for psychiatric care.
Proven success working individually and as part of a team.
