Position Overview
Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) supporting Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. at a local manufacturing site. The HRBP serves as a trusted strategic advisor, integrating business strategy with people practices.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
Prepares the site for the future by understanding the company goals, business model and financial drivers.
Coaching and Influence:
Provides coaching to direct reports and senior leaders, builds trust among all levels, navigates conflict and collaborates with stakeholders in a continuous improvement culture. Acts as a trusted advisor by providing candid, solutions‑oriented counsel.
Building a Competitive Organization:
Translates business objectives into actionable HR strategies and plans. Partners with leadership to prioritize initiatives that drive performance and profitability.
Recruitment:
Anticipates workforce needs based on business demands. Ensures the site is staffed at headcount and uses sound judgment to balance short‑term operational needs with long‑term talent strategies.
Performance Management:
Supports leaders in enhancing staff performance and development. Drives the mid‑year and end‑of‑year performance management cycle.
Data‑Driven Problem Solving:
Uses metrics to evaluate the impact of HR initiatives and continuously improve results. Encourages the HR team to leverage technology and systems for better decision making and efficiency. Uses data to influence and make strategic business decisions.
Compliance:
Thorough knowledge of employment law and state regulations that must be met and upheld. Oversees workplace regulations and site adherence to company policies.
Culture Modeling:
Ensures that company purpose and values are reflected in performance management, recognition and communication practices. Coaches managers on authentic communication, effective feedback and meaningful recognition. Creates an inclusive and high‑performing HR team culture.
HIPAA Privacy and Security:
Assists the Ajinomoto Food health plan with day‑to‑day activities involving protected health information, including claims, benefits coordination, eligibility determination, budgeting, renewal, billing and collection.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management or a related field.
Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP) preferred.
6‑8 years of advanced HR experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Knowledge of HR principles and business acumen.
Experience effectively coaching and collaborating with senior business leaders.
Demonstrated aptitude to identify problems, analyze them and implement data‑driven solutions.
Skill in driving and managing organizational change initiatives.
Ability to work independently and through others.
Strong judgment, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills; solid communication (written and verbal) and influence skills.
Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Food manufacturing experience preferred.
Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment preferred.
Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
