Overview Assist in the preparation of tax research, planning, and compliance required of a multinational insurance holding company, related property and casualty insurance companies, and non-insurance subsidiaries that through its insurance carriers, offers specialty property and casualty insurance products, including workers' compensation, commercial automobile and general liability insurance, and extended service and warranty coverage.
This role can be worked in our NYC - Maiden Lane office or our Jersey City, NJ office. This role requires a 3 days on site hybrid schedule.
The salary range for this role is $126,200 - 200,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Jersey City, NJ and New York City, NY. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics. This range may be modified in the future.
Responsibilities
Review international tax returns (Form 5471, Form 8858, Form 8865, etc..) and supporting work papers for foreign subsidiaries
Review Subpart F income calculations for inclusion in the US consolidated tax return
Review GILTI and BEAT calculation for inclusion in the US consolidated tax return
Review Transfer Pricing studies
Review foreign tax credit calculations for foreign subsidiaries
Review earnings and profits calculations for foreign subsidiaries
Assist with Pillar II implementation and compliance
Review the quarterly and annual income tax provision for foreign subsidiaries in accordance with ASC 740 (formerly Statement 109: Accounting for Income Taxes)
Assist in the preparation of footnote disclosures for quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and Statutory Accounting
Coordinate with foreign subsidiaries to obtain needed accounting/financial information for various tax requirements
Tax research and planning as necessary
Assist in the merger and acquisition of foreign subsidiaries
Assist in technical tax-related issues involving other essential departments within the AmTrust organization
Stay current regarding federal, state and international income tax laws and insurance tax laws
Qualifications
Experience in dealing with insurance taxation preferred but not required
Experience with OneSource Income Tax or similar tax preparation software
Organized individual with an attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in order to meet deadlines
Ability to complete thorough workpapers supporting various tax returns
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
Advanced training indicated by CPA designation or Masters of Tax preferred but not required
7 to 9 years of tax experience in public accounting or in the insurance industry or an equivalent combination of experience is necessary
