About The Role Position Description
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Rotating Equipment Plant Support Engineering, the Plant Monitoring & Diagnostic Engineer will be responsible for:
Monitoring component assembly instrumentation signals for abnormalities in operation.
Drafting dashboards and detailed reports on trending operational parameters, provide technical recommendations to facilities on operational risk and repair options.
On-site and remote Mechanical/Electrical engineering troubleshooting support for equipment operational challenges and unplanned equipment outages.
Facilitate reviews with Reworld facility maintenance teams on asset health and planned maintenance scope.
This position will provide key support to local and regional maintenance teams and may involve boots-on-the-ground aspects of projects. The Engineer will provide subject matter expertise, utilizing Reworld’s technical standards/specifications for Mechanical/Electrical Designs, including all rotating equipment standards applicable in the USA.
This position requires close collaboration with Reworld facilities based throughout the US; some travel is expected to support required initiatives, with an estimated travel requirement of up to 30%.
Key Responsibilities
Independently review facility operational trends of rotating equipment monitoring systems. Catalog and prioritize equipment based on trend abnormalities and rotating equipment standards of acceptable operation. Coordinate with Reliability Engineering and Facility Maintenance teams to develop an actionable plan for resolution.
Develop a protocol for responding to all critical alarms, followed by escalation to key stakeholders (Corporate Engineering, Reliability Maintenance, Facility teams, etc.).
Develop scope of work for facility management and coordinate with suppliers and contractors in close coordination with Reworld engineering teams.
May assume the duties of technical lead and subject matter expert for small to medium capital programs, including maintaining technical documentation and asset databases.
Discuss, explain, and present to key stakeholders potential improvements associated with the diagnostics results.
Maintain strong communication and collaboration with all internal Engineering teams.
Qualifications
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in relevant areas. Preferred experience in vibration systems and diagnostics.
Desired certification: Vibration Analysts Category – II or higher according to ISO 18436
Desired experience in operation and/or maintenance of steam turbines and ancillary equipment.
Experience/Skillsets
Industrial Experience: Mechanical experience with Fans, Pumps, Motors, and/or turbomachinery within an electrical power generation/large utility power plant or similar industrial sectors; ability to work on multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
Technical Skillsets:
Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance programs (oil analysis, vibration monitoring, temperature monitoring of rotating machines, etc.). Knowledge of Bently Nevada System diagnostics is a plus.
Proficiency in understanding and analyzing operational data for industrial equipment.
Experience troubleshooting rotating equipment issues (vibration, bearing temperature, valve actuation, steam flow regulation).
Experience with mechanical assembly degradation and repair methods to return equipment to as-new condition.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings (CAD/AutoCAD), and use monitoring and diagnostic software and data trending applications.
Proficiency in creating and analyzing data trends and presenting meaningful conclusions and action plans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to analyze data, write technical reports, and develop work packages to implement recommendations; capable of handling multiple assignments.
Compensation & Benefits Reworld is committed to paying staff equitably. The stated pay range for the primary location is: $92,000.00 (min) - 125,000.00 (max) per year. The pay offered is based on factors such as experience, education, qualifications, certifications, skills, location, and business needs. The role is eligible for benefits including medical, prescription drug, vision, dental plans; 401(k) plan; paid parental leave; paid time off; and paid holidays (where applicable).
