Editor/Producer, Image+Sound CNN is the world’s essential and engaging source of video and digital news. We are building the next generation of news and information experiences to inform, engage, and empower the world. The Work:

The Creative Services Editor/Producer focuses on craft editing for daily content on next-generation products, with an eye toward direct-to-consumer, paid experiences. This role provides editing support across CNN platforms, including graphic creation for show opens and packages, content for special programming, and traditional news elements. The Editor/Producer combines a visually compelling approach with adherence to editorial and journalistic standards. Proficiency in After Effects, graphic creation, color correction, and basic audio sweetening is required.

The Daily

News production editing

Complex and creative graphic creation

Stylized program elements (show opens, elements, teases)

Documentary and other long-form editing

Collaboration with partners on scripting, story development, producing, and fact-checking

Producing and creating visual elements (video and graphical)

Distinctive storytelling and metadata requirements

The Creative Services Editor/Producer fulfills responsibilities with technical, editorial, and creative expertise in editing, producing, design, and compositing, under news production deadlines. Flexibility with schedule and hours is required.

The Essentials

Experience in a professional news or sports environment

Technical and creative editing/producing expertise with Adobe Creative Suite, emphasis on After Effects and visual effects plug-ins

Understanding of video production workflow and proficiency in file-based production environments

Editorial judgment and knowledge of story pitching, field production, shot selection, scripting, and adapting to evolving technologies

Commitment to ongoing skill development and use of emerging technology

Collaborative work with partners on production projects, including attending show meetings, contributing to story development, script enhancements, and video research

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical production, English, political science, history, or relevant professional experience
