About the Role – Creative Services Editor/Producer The position focuses on craft editing for daily content across CNN platforms, emphasizing direct‑to‑consumer and paid experiences. Responsibilities include graphic creation, video editing, and collaboration with producers and writers to produce engaging visual stories.
Key Responsibilities
Complex and creative graphic creation for show opens and packages.
Stylized program elements, including teasers and transitions.
Long‑form documentary editing and other special programming.
Partner collaboration on scripting, story development, producing, and fact‑checking.
Producing and creating visual elements (video and graphics).
Distinctive storytelling within tight news production deadlines.
Metadata creation and management for distributed content.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional news or sports editing experience.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects and visual effects plug‑ins (Sapphire, Boris, Red Giant).
In‑depth understanding of video production workflow and file‑based environments.
Strong editorial judgment and knowledge of story pitching, shot selection, and scripting.
Adaptability to emerging technologies and fast‑paced environments.
Collaborative teamwork with production partners and stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical production, English, political science, history, or related experience.
