Overview
As the M365 Platform Owner, you will lead strategic initiatives for Messaging and Collaboration technologies across the enterprise and own the Microsoft 365 platform, aligning with business goals and user experience expectations.
Responsibilities
Define and execute the roadmap for Messaging and Collaboration technologies across the enterprise.
Serve as the primary owner of the Microsoft 365 platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and user experience expectations.
Partner with Security, Compliance, and Infrastructure teams to ensure secure and resilient collaboration services.
Oversee the administration and optimization of Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Viva, and related services.
Manage licensing, capacity planning, and service health across the M365 ecosystem.
Lead incident response and root cause analysis for messaging and collaboration-related outages or performance issues.
Drive adoption of new M365 features and capabilities, including Copilot, Loop, and Viva modules.
Evaluate and implement third-party integrations and automation to enhance collaboration workflows.
Stay ahead of Microsoft roadmap changes and proactively plan for feature rollouts and deprecations.
Establish and maintain governance policies for Teams, SharePoint, and Exchange (e.g., naming conventions, lifecycle management, retention).
Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies.
Collaborate with Legal and Risk teams on eDiscovery, litigation holds, and audit requirements.
Lead a team of engineers and administrators supporting M365 services.
Manage vendor relationships, including Microsoft Premier Support and third-party solution providers.
Provide mentorship and career development for team members.
Qualifications & Requirements
8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or collaboration technologies, with 5+ years focused on Microsoft 365.
Proven leadership in managing enterprise-scale M365 environments.
Deep expertise in Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive.
Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Power Platform is a plus.
Strong understanding of M365 architecture, licensing models, and service dependencies.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels of the organization.
Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and automation.
Certifications (Preferred):
Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
Microsoft Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
ITIL Foundation or equivalent process knowledge
Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
