Stress Engineer - Aerospace

Responsibilities
Perform Static, fatigue and damage tolerance analysis for aircraft structures using classical hand calculation.
Familiar with Boeing Static and Book 1, 2 and 3 Fatigue Analysis Methodologies.
Familiar with and have prior experience with Boeing Stress Tools (IAS, XSA/SA+, FEADMS, IDTAS, Moss-Duberg, FAMOSS). Understanding of load paths and extraction of loads from Finite Element Models.
Familiar with Damage Tolerance Analysis and CFR25.571 requirements.
Determine critical failure modes and perform analyses to ensure structural integrity.
Analyze aircraft primary/secondary metallic structures.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Coordinate with cross-functional groups including Design, Materials & Process Engineering.
Participate in review meetings with customers and SMEs.
Generate Engineering Stress Reports establishing compliance and safety.
Interact with customers to understand the Scope of Work and methodology required to meet expectations.
Qualifications
At least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry as a Stress Engineer.
Comprehensive knowledge of stress analysis of aero structures.
Experience with metallic and composite structural analysis.
Experience in load, stress calculations and preparing technical reports.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis tools (Nastran, Patran).
Experience in static, fatigue and damage tolerance calculations.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of aerospace industry standards.
Experience with PATRAN, NASTRAN, FEMAP.
Experience in MRB and SRM; CATIA V5, Enovia.
Minimum years of experience: 5-12 years.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master of Engineering.
