IT Project Manager – Rochester, NY
Hybrid position; onsite in Rochester, NY. This is a contract‑to‑hire position.
Pay rate: $45–55 per hour based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
The IT Project Manager directs and coordinates strategic technology projects to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within the committed time frame and budget.
The role advances project management within IT, including solution use, standard artifacts, and a consistent delivery methodology.
Candidates must have a good mix of SDLC and infrastructure PM work.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic plans for IT‑driven business transformation initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large‑scale IT transformation programs, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
Build strong customer relationships with a focus on customer‑centric solution delivery.
Hands‑on, practical experience with a variety of project management methodologies – Agile experience strongly preferred.
Experience with project management support solutions – Microsoft Project or Workfront strongly preferred.
Collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, define project scope, and ensure alignment with business priorities.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, proactively addressing issues to minimize impact on project timelines and deliverables.
Drive organizational change by promoting adoption of new technologies, processes, and ways of working, ensuring smooth transition and user acceptance.
Manage relationships with external vendors and partners, overseeing procurement processes and monitoring vendor performance to ensure delivery of high‑quality products and services.
Allocate resources effectively, including internal staff and external consultants, to support project activities and achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Hands‑on experience with a variety of project delivery methodologies.
Experience with Agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies.
PMI PMP certification is a strong plus.
Ability to interact with company personnel, build strong relationships at all levels and across all business units and organizations, and understand business imperatives.
Strong understanding of the business impact of IT tools, technologies, and policies.
