System Administrator (Windows Desktop/Server, Linux, M365)
Akkodis is looking for a Systems Administrator for a direct hire position in New Castle County, DE. This position has hands‑on technical and administrative responsibility for managing and maintaining all capabilities within the IT Infrastructure portfolio, including critical IT infrastructure components such as Windows, Linux, Active Directory, and physical, virtual, and cloud‑based environments.
Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr
Salary:
$100,000 to $120,000. Based on education, experience, geographic location and other factors. No C2C or Third‑Party candidates will be considered.
This position requires 3 days onsite starting day one, so we are only considering
candidates that are relatively local to the area.
As a senior staff member, this role provides guidance on planning, policy, and system integrity. This includes monitoring existing solutions, executing new and upgrade implementations, implementing enhancements, and performing required maintenance.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain and develop the IT Infrastructure Group’s lifecycle operations.
Demonstrate in‑depth knowledge of the functionality of, and the ability to administer and troubleshoot across the portfolio of IT infrastructure along with all supporting components: servers & appliances (hardware, operating systems, hypervisors, storage, etc.), communications (voice, cellular, email, fax, telecommunication lines, chat, etc.), physical environment (server rooms, DR sites, etc.), virtual systems and related infrastructures, cloud‑based infrastructure technologies, Microsoft based products, webservers, backup & recovery, monitoring and performance tools, identity management, authentication and authorization solutions, automation and tools supporting technology support (workstations/laptops, peripherals, operating systems, software, etc.), Windows client operating system, Linux operating system.
Administer Active Directory (AD), including user accounts, Group Policy Objects (GPO), DNS, DHCP, and authentication services.
Maintain the secure and continued operations of related infrastructure hardware and software through the review, deployment, and management of security and enhancement patches and updates.
Anticipate, respond to, and identify technology/business needs by implementing new technology, hardware, software, processes, applications, and services, as well as enhancements to existing products and capabilities.
Develop, implement, and administer software, tools, and procedures to monitor, alert, report on, and remediate issues within IT infrastructure.
Draft, analyze, and implement IT infrastructure‑related technology, requirements, rules, processes, information flow, project plans, recommendations, functional and technical specifications, configuration, automation, issue remediation, and enhancements.
Plan and execute corrective efforts to prevent and correct security vulnerabilities within IT infrastructure.
Provide coverage for on‑call 24/7 incident management support for the production environment.
Recommend and adhere to requirements related to IT infrastructure (e.g., OS settings, backups, authentication, etc.), based on manufacturer‑published authoritative guidance and/or company policy.
Plan and develop the annual budget, application roadmap, & project schedule.
Assure compliance to controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Assure the department’s risk is managed and minimized.
Required experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of five years of experience in system administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 3 years of relevant experience administering
virtualization platforms
such as VMware (ESXi, vSphere), Microsoft Hyper V, Citrix Hypervisor, Nutanix AHV, and Linux KVM.
Proven experience with
Active Directory , DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and email administration.
Hands‑on
experience managing Microsoft 365 services
(Intune, Autopilot, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online).
Familiarity with cloud computing environments, such as
Azure or AWS .
Designing, implementing, and administering all aspects of IT Infrastructure through its lifecycle.
Working with team members executing complex initiatives.
Ensuring compliance with policies, business requirements, licensing, and contracts.
Providing functional consulting related to use of technology supporting IT and business processes.
Experience with Active Directory (Azure AD/Entra), Microsoft
