Shift:

20 hours (2×10 hr shifts) monthly; 1 weekend per month / 12 weekends per year; option to add shifts during the week as needed

About Us Blood Cancer and Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Experts. The Colorado Blood Cancer Institute Medical Group is a private practice that provides full‑spectrum care for patients with hematologic malignancies, including conventional therapy, autologous and allogenic transplant and immune‑effector cell therapy.

Position Overview We are seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in Colorado. The ideal candidate has experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity setting; BMT experience is strongly preferred. Candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions Outpatient Clinical Care

Provides expert‑level care to patients across all conditions treated at CBCI.

Prepares and oversees patient care plans, participates in multidisciplinary team meetings and coordinates care with nursing, pharmacy, dietitians, psychology, social work and other clinical staff.

Works primarily independently of supervising physicians; physicians are present in clinic for questions and support.

Serves as primary provider coordinating scheduled and unscheduled admissions and discharges to the hospital service.

Provides care to patients on research studies as assigned, maintaining up‑to‑date awareness of all applicable studies.

Completes all documentation in a timely manner within EMR, including orders, admissions paperwork, and other clinical tasks.

Inpatient Clinical Care

Rotates between units as assigned, focusing on CBCI patient/provider continuity.

Provides expert‑level care to assigned patients on the CBCI service.

Prepares and oversees patient care plans daily, participates in multidisciplinary rounds, and coordinates care with nursing, pharmacy, dietitians, psychology, social work and other consulting specialists.

Completes hospital admissions and discharges with input from the CBCI clinic or hospital physician.

Presents patients to and rounds with supervising physician, amends plan of care accordingly.

Follows patients in ICU as assigned, providing critical care services in coordination with the CBCI hospital physician and critical care team.

Provides inpatient care to patients on research studies as assigned.

Places orders and completes all documentation within EMR in a timely manner.

Procedures

Performs procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings as assigned.

Procedures include bone marrow biopsy (with and without sedation), skin biopsy, and procedural clearance for patients receiving photopheresis.

Qualifications

Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Colorado.

Experience in a high‑volume, high‑acuity clinical setting.

BMT experience preferred.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work independently under physician supervision.
