Your Role and Responsibilities IBM Quantum is hiring a Research Scientist to contribute to the development of advanced, high-performance mixed-signal circuits in advanced nodes for exploratory applications. Design blocks such as phase-locked-loop (PLL), DAC, ADC, RF or wireline transmitters and receivers, and complex mixed-signal subsystems. Involve in all aspects of design projects from concept and IC architecture exploration/definition to system integration to bring‑up and test; hands‑on lab skills are required. Background in communication theory, systems and/or quantum computing is advantageous.
Preferred Education Doctorate Degree
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
Analog/Mixed-Signal Circuit Design: strong foundation and experience in schematic and physical design of RF, analog, and/or mixed-signal circuits (2 yrs).
CMOS Implementation: demonstrated expertise in deep sub‑micron CMOS technology with understanding of device characteristics (2 yrs).
EDA: thorough knowledge of Cadence IC design framework (2 yrs).
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Doctorate degree.
PLL design in deep sub‑micron CMOS, including architecture, key building blocks, physical design and measurement.
Custom digital circuit design and implementation in deep sub‑micron technology.
Programming skills in commonly used languages.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Track record of successful participation in multidisciplinary research and development projects.
Proven record of research accomplishment (e.g., publications).
