Location: Baltimore, MD 21218 (Maryland nursing jobs) Estimated Weekly Pay: $1770-$1900 Assignment Length: 13-week travel RN contract Start Date: November 11, 2025 End Date: February 10, 2026 Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 or 48 hours/week Shifts per week: 4 On Call: 4 call shifts per 6-week schedule Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend Unit: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), 8 beds Charting System: Cerner/Med Connect Scrub Color: Navy Blue Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU RN experience required Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland or compact state Certifications: ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) Proficient in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation, post-cardiac surgery care (not directly from OR), ventilator management, pacer/transvenous pacer, and IV insulin protocols Experience with POD 1 hearts and admitting fresh hearts Ability to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity Two supervisor references required Flu vaccine required (no exemptions) Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients with complex cardiac conditions in the CVICU Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias, assist with chest tube insertion/removal, and provide ventilator care Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, manage IV insulin protocols, and provide post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams Participate in on-call rotation and float to other critical care units as needed Document patient care using Cerner/Med Connect and communicate effectively using SBAR/shift notes Maintain infection prevention standards and adhere to hospital policies and procedures Benefits
