ICU RN Job Details
Location: Baltimore, MD 21239 (Maryland nursing jobs)
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1630 - $1750
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (travel nurse contract)
Shift: 12‑hour nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 3 shifts/week
Hours per Week: 36
Start Date: November 25, 2025
End Date: February 24, 2026
Setting: Adult ICU (17 beds, average census 12)
Float: Required (float RN jobs)
Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend
Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)
ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU RN experience (critical care nursing)
Active Maryland or Compact RN license (required for Baltimore healthcare jobs)
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required for ICU nurse jobs)
Experience with Cerner charting system preferred
Two (2) supervisor references required
Willingness to float to other units as needed
Ability to work every third weekend
Local candidates accepted within 60 miles (at local rate)
ICU RN Responsibilities
Provide high‑quality nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU
Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
Administer medications, titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips, and respond to emergencies
Assist with procedures: chest tube insertion/removal, arterial and central line management, ventilator management
Interpret dysrhythmias, ABGs, and manage multi‑system organ failure
Care for patients with complex diagnoses (cardiac arrest, DKA, sepsis, and more)
Utilize advanced ICU equipment (CRRT, Arctic Sun, ICP monitors)
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rapid response)
Maintain infection prevention protocols and adhere to isolation precautions
Float to other units as required and provide coverage every third weekend
