HVAC Technician
Oceanside Unified School District is hiring an HVAC Technician for its Maintenance Department. This 8‑hour/day, 12‑month position performs skilled mechanical maintenance work in the repair, installation, and alteration of air conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilating systems and related equipment.
Responsibilities
Repair, install, and maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
Operate hand and power tools and related HVAC equipment.
Work independently, guide crew members when necessary, and complete work on schedule.
Use computer and mobile devices to process work orders and prepare reports.
Follow applicable safety codes, federal and state refrigerant regulations, and general safety practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent plus at least three years of journeyman‑level HVAC experience.
Valid California driver’s license.
Knowledge of heating and cooling equipment operations, electrical circuitry, refrigerant handling, and safety codes.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operate tools, and use computer work‑order software.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and capacity to lead a small crew.
