Responsibilities Kforce has a client in Brentwood, TN that is seeking a Nutanix Storage & VMware Engineer responsible for the development and delivery of Virtualization Infrastructure services and automation to support enterprise operations for mission‑critical environments.
Summary:
The Nutanix Storage & VMware Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and support of virtualization platforms and services to enable greater agility with fulfillment to accomplish company growth initiatives. Additional key responsibilities include mentoring other team members in a DevOps operating model. Technologies in scope include: Nutanix, VMware and Azure virtualization platforms and technologies, data protection solutions, infrastructure automation tools, Ansible, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and shared‑service applications. Candidates must have knowledge of cloud technology platforms, PaaS, IaaS, containers, Kubernetes, scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python and other Infrastructure automation languages.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field preferred; Any suitable combination of education and experience will be considered
Professional Certifications: Preferred Nutanix, VMware, Microsoft Azure Certifications
6+ years of related work experience with Nutanix/VMware or other virtualization platforms
3+ years of related work experience in DevOps utilizing SDLC agile methodology
High demand IT specialized skills: DevOps in Public and Private Cloud Environments
Platform Knowledge
Nutanix and VMware Virtualization Platforms and Services
Scripting Languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, PowerCLI, JSON, KSH, YAML)
Orchestration tools (GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible)
Infrastructure Configuration/Automation development (Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet)
Cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Bluemix)
Container and Platform services (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, CI/CD Pipeline)
Repository tools (GitHub, BitBucket)
Microsoft and Linux based Operating Systems
Preferred
Ability to use a variety of open‑source technologies and cloud services
Development and execution of DevOps engineering practices
Strong knowledge of storage, server and networking technologies and environments
Ability to comprehend business requirements to ensure technical directions are supportive
Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies
Analytical and Problem‑solving skills
Knowledge of business process re‑engineering from lean principles to agile processes
Knowledge of open telemetry observability frameworks, pipelines and publish/subscribe models
Strong understanding of ITIL core principles for incident, request, change, and problem management
Compensation and Benefits The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
