Responsibilities
Champion and lead Lean initiatives at the plant level using the company's WIN Strategy.
Organize associates in value stream mapping and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste in all office, factory, and support functions.
Measure and report progress using the Lean Journey Assessment, financial performance metrics, and Lean Report Card measures.
Transfer ownership of Lean principles to facility leadership and ensure implementation of the corporate WIN strategy across the plant.
Coordinate Lean initiatives at the plant and train associates to continually eliminate waste.
Establish steering committees and teams that implement Lean principles, techniques, and methodologies such as Value Stream Mapping, Cellular Manufacturing, Kanban Pull Systems, Quick Changeover, Design for Lean, One‑Piece Flow, inventory reduction, and site tracking centers.
Prioritize implementation results, update the plant's Lean implementation plan regularly, and empower every employee with positive reinforcement of Lean.
Serve as a catalyst for successful and sustained Lean implementation, provide high‑level technical and operational recommendations for material control, product quality, and customer service goals, and support coaching and teaching of Lean principles.
Maintain ongoing education of all plant employees in Lean and promote a continuous learning environment.
Understand current culture by reviewing existing policies and procedures, and collaborate with all operating disciplines using value stream management to develop a master plan that meets Lean goals.
Qualifications
Four‑year degree or equivalent.
One to three years of manufacturing technical experience demonstrating a self‑starting, hands‑on quality orientation.
Good understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Transformation, Just‑in‑Time, Demand Flow, Single‑Piece Flow, Five S’s, Visual Management, and related concepts.
Participation in numerous Lean events across manufacturing, engineering, and support areas.
Ability to articulate the desired state, purpose, and value of Lean and continually move toward waste elimination.
Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial measurements and goals.
Excellent communication skills to lead and support empowered employees in a team environment.
Good presentation skills to effectively share success stories and ideas within the division.
