RN CLINIC II role at Covenant Health. Full Time, 80 hours per pay period, Day Shift. Location: McNeeley Family Physicians. Covenant Medical Group is Covenant Health’s employed and managed medical practice organization, with more than 300 physicians and providers across East Tennessee.

Position Summary Provides professional nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting and coordinates care planning with other disciplines as appropriate. Will be required to work in the lab, perform EKGs, apply Holter monitors, etc.
Responsibilities
Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
Precepts new employees/students as needed. Reviews clinical performance of preceptee with office manager or clinical instructor/supervisor.
Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, infection control policies.
Prepares patients for scheduled procedures and assists in patient assessment; accurately records history and performs basic triage procedures per policy.
Retrieves patient condition information, creates nursing history, and discusses recommendations for appropriate interventions with the practitioner.
Resolve complex patient/management/physician problems with clinical expertise and judgment, with appropriate supervision as needed.
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacy using AIDET communication fundamentals.
Assists providers with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families during visits.
Monitors and ensures accuracy of patient medical records; maintains all required reports and records.
Ensures adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment; inspects area for compliance with policies and takes corrective action as needed.
Schedules outside patient appointments per physician order and relays information accurately to patients.
Handles calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relays information to the practitioner in a timely manner.
Ensures test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner.
Completes medical orientation checklist and initiates appropriate patient education.
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and the patient, physician, and care team as part of a team-based approach to care.
Implements care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order; problem-solves and coordinates clinic patient care with physician supervision.
Demonstrates competence in delivering age-appropriate care for the population served.
Maintains professional growth through seminars, workshops and affiliations to stay current in the field.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Education None specified; however, must meet standards for achievement of license/certification as required by the issuing authority.
Minimum Experience Minimum of three (3) years of professional nursing experience.
Licensure Requirement Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR, OSHA training annually.
