Overview
Plant Engineering Manager – Coit (Cleveland), OH at Arclin USA. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for maintenance of all plant assets, specifications and design of plant facilities, controls and equipment to achieve cost-efficient results while enhancing the environment, safety, quality, and long-term profitability of the facility. Responsibilities
The Plant Engineering Manager is the owner and accountable for all plant assets; responsible for controlling, tracking and reporting spending of the capital budget and the maintenance. Analyzes and plans maintenance work force utilization, predictive/preventative maintenance, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Function as a project manager for capital projects. Communicates with internal and external customers to ensure project plans and work in progress will meet desired outcomes. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Supervises all resources in the maintenance department. Provide technical advice on plant operations and improvements. Prepares engineering analysis of projects that includes preliminary design, detailed design, project cost analysis, life cycle cost analysis and equipment selection. Develop, evaluate and improve the manufacturing controls and automation utilizing knowledge of instrumentation, controls & automation, product design, materials, chemicals, and production equipment capabilities. Leverage automation and controls to eliminate ergonomic risks. Leverage automation and controls to institutionalize consistencies in production. Qualifications
B.S. in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering 10+ years plant maintenance/engineering/project engineering experience in chemical or rubber manufacturing or related industries Experience with Rockwell Programmable Logic Controllers, VFDs, and HMIs required Experience with Batch process and process historians required Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated record of leadership, teamwork, adaptability, innovation and initiative Ability to work well with all levels of personnel throughout the facility and the company Preferred
Experience in TPM, 6 Sigma, Lean, 5S Registered as a Professional Engineer Experience in PSM program implementation and maintenance Knowledge of Distributive Process Controls Systems Job details
