Responsibilities

Perform Depot Level Maintenance of Naval Aircraft Mechanical Systems.

Based on blueprints, job orders, engineering specifications, or maintenance instructions, disassemble, repair, rework, and install various systems and components such as wings, control surfaces, landing gear, arresting gear, fuel cells, instrumentation, and engines.

Install hydraulic tubing, actuating cylinders, and cable controls.

Rig, adjust, and perform pre‑flight tests on flight systems including landing gear, flight controls, instruments, oxygen/ environmental systems, and power plants.

Install complete fuel systems, including self‑sealing fuel cells.

Operate electronic technical publications and navigate related resources.

Travel across FRCSW sites throughout the US and outside Continental United States as required.

Perform installation, adjustment, alignment and troubleshooting for final operational and functional testing on major aircraft weapon systems, assemblies, and components for the H‑60 aircraft, including overhaul and repair of weapon systems, airframes, landing gear, power plants, gear boxes, pumps, hydraulic systems, pressurization, utility, fuel, oil, pneumatic and flight control systems.

Troubleshoot aircraft systems, components, or subassemblies, identify malfunctions and take corrective action (repair or replace).

Disassemble, repair, and reassemble major aircraft systems, assemblies, and components.

Connect related systems to newly installed or repaired units and adjust them to assure proper operation.

Install, align, and functionally and operationally test major and minor mechanical and pneumatic systems during overhaul or modification; perform engine removal and installation, jacking and leveling, alignment, retraction checks, and routine maintenance such as flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.

Inspect, maintain, modify, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and test the H‑60 fuel system assemblies and components.

Isolate the nature of trouble and extent of adjustment or repair required for refuel/cross‑feed mechanisms, pumps, pressure relief valves, fuel bladders and associated accessories.

Diagnose malfunctions and overhaul fuel accessories by disassembling, cleaning, inspecting for corrosion, wear, scratches, cracks or other damage, replacing gaskets and worn parts.

Reassemble accessories, adjust, and test to ensure proper operation in accordance with technical orders, microfilm, manufacturer specification manuals, part supply books and blueprints.

Fabricate fuel, oil, and vacuum hose lines; modify aircraft fuel equipment as required by technical orders; use standard and specialized tools and measuring devices of the trade.

Comply with all required trainings and administrative functions required by the company and the customer.

Assist in maintaining NAMP Programs, ensure contract artisans follow Ground Operating Procedures, and ensure personnel comply with safety procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: minimum experience or military experience as an airframe technician on H‑60 aircraft or any vertical‑lift aircraft of the US Navy or Marine Corps; experience as aircraft sheet metal mechanic on any commercial aircraft; A&P certification with experience as sheet metal mechanic.

Must pass background investigation for Secret Clearance.

U.S. Citizenship required as the position will require access to U.S. only data systems.

Must be able to pass a NACI which could include a credit check.

Working knowledge of advanced skill management (ASM) or willingness to learn.

Ability to research and navigate electronic publications (IETM), NATEC website, service bulletins, technical publications, blueprints, IPB, MIM, LES, LPS, TEI.

English language skills for communication with customers.

Strong communicator able to communicate clearly in writing and orally; ability to train others.

Customer‑service oriented, detail focused, proactive behavior, multi‑task capability.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; general computer office equipment; knowledge of company timesheet systems and FRCSW share drives.
