Senior Software Developer – Technology Services Position Goal Create, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair software, data databases, and other information systems to support academic and administrative computing that enhances teaching and learning. While the emphasis of this position is software development, duties may include support for computers, servers, storage, related technology, and associated services.
Responsibility Performs duties with limited supervision. Work involves significant project management and coordination of human and technical resources, synthesis of operational systems, and evaluation and recommendation of work to be performed following agency policies and procedures to support the agency’s mission. Work is characterized by the responsibility for the work of others, and by the ability to make independent decisions within established guidelines that align department goals with agency goals.
Essential Functions
Perform all functions of Software Developer III.
Demonstrates initiative in forecasting and designing new services to meet changing regional needs.
Determine the viability of new regional projects to meet changing regional needs.
Assist supervisor with designing and implementing regional projects, determining project prerequisites, overseeing milestone attainment, and coordinating resources.
Design, implement, and monitor regional service delivery to maximize availability, ensure integrity, and protect against intrusion.
Assist the supervisor in managing the software development life cycle.
Provide support for Software Developer III.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Prerequisites
All requirements of Software Developer III.
Performance at the level of Software Developer III for at least one year.
Demonstrated capabilities of a Senior Software Developer.
The equivalent combination of experience, training, certification, education, or degree that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be used as an alternative to prerequisites.
Location In person at the Grape St. Office, 101 N. Grape Street, Medford, OR 97501.
Length of Position 1.0/258 days (annual year‑round position)
Salary Per Classified Collective Bargaining Agreement, $34.27/hr – $40.99/hr.
