Our Information Services Division (ISD) is recruiting for an experienced IT Application Developer for the DRIVES Production Support Team. The role supports a public‑facing agency that serves over 6 million Washington residents and collects nearly $3 billion in taxes and fees annually.

Responsibilities

Application development and support through analysis, research, design, and troubleshooting via appropriate tools and technologies.

Ensure architectural principles are met for application design and coordinate planning with supervisors and solution architects.

Plan and execute work effort assessments for projects and deliverables.

Conduct research and analysis, and utilize troubleshooting skills to resolve problems.

Direct testing and quality assurance.

Collaborate with other IS units to determine the overall design, structure, interface, and performance of solutions.

Act as a technical advisor to project manager, test manager, and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

Six (6) years of professional experience analyzing, designing, or developing computer system applications or databases.

Associate’s degree (or higher) or completion of an accredited vocational training program in information technology.

Ability to understand and follow agency values of respect, trust, diversity, equity, and inclusion through behaviors and decisions.

Education to experience equivalency: Bachelor’s degree = 2 years experience; Master’s degree = 3 years experience.

(Preferred) Eight (8) or more years of experience as a software developer/engineer.

(Preferred) One (1) year of experience with FAST Enterprises GENTAX products.

Additional Requirements of Employment

Prior to a new hire, a pre‑employment screening, including criminal record history, will be conducted.

This position, while hybrid, requires you to work in person at our Olympia area offices regularly and as business needs require.
