Staff Accountant
in Boston, MA, in a fully onsite role (5 days/week, 8-4 hours). Reporting to the Controller, you'll support core accounting operations in a highly collaborative, family-oriented environment with exceptional work-life balance.
Salary:
$70,000–$75,000 (DOE) + comprehensive benefits.

What You’ll Do
Process vendor payments and manage accounts payable workflows with accuracy and efficiency.
Handle accounts receivable transactions, including tuition, donations, and event payments.
Execute bank account reconciliations and balance sheet account reviews monthly.
Prepare and file 1099 forms at year-end, maintaining vendor records and compliance.
Record journal entries and support general ledger maintenance and month-end close processes.
Collect, deposit, and record cash receipts from various institutional activities.
Assist with credit card transaction reviews, reconciliations, and general ledger postings.
Support annual audit preparation by organizing documentation and responding to inquiries.
Maintain organized financial records and respond to internal/external financial questions.
Provide backup support for student accounts and cross-functional accounting tasks.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 2+ years in accounting with strong AP/AR, reconciliations, and 1099 preparation.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with financial management systems.
Knowledge: Solid understanding of general ledger, month-end close, and audit support processes.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities, and verbal/written communication.
Mindset: Collaborative team player who thrives in a supportive, family-oriented environment.
Personality: Positive, professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills – team fit is essential.
Location: Local to the Malden, MA area for fully onsite work (5 days/week).
