Staff Accountant
will support the accounting operations of a
multi-location manufacturing organization
in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with operations, supply chain, and production teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and insight into manufacturing performance. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and excellent judgment in problem-solving. They must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines. All activities must be performed with the highest standards of ethics, confidentiality, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post month‑end journal entries for multiple manufacturing plants and business units.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including inventory, fixed assets, and accruals, ensuring all supporting documentation and notes are complete for management review.
Reconcile multiple bank accounts weekly and ensure all cash transactions are accurately recorded prior to month‑end close.
Analyze plant‑level financial statements for variances or unusual trends and investigate root causes (e.g., material usage, labor, overhead).
Prepare and distribute accurate financial and operational reports to management on a timely basis.
Partner with plant and production managers to address P&L questions, cost variances, and support the budgeting and forecasting process.
Assist in the development and tracking of manufacturing KPIs, such as production efficiency, scrap, and material cost trends.
Support external audit requests and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Prepare ad hoc reports and participate in special projects, such as system enhancements or process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
1–3 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and standard costing (preferred).
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v‑lookups, pivot tables, graphs, etc.); experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite a plus.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and meet deadlines in a dynamic production environment.
