They provide fast, flexible, and reliable lending solutions to real estate investors, developers, and builders. The company is seeking an experienced Underwriter
to join the team. This individual will play a critical role in evaluating and approving loan applications in alignment with the company’s risk and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and underwrite loans in accordance with Trius Lending Partners’ guidelines and investor standards.
Evaluate borrower strength, creditworthiness, collateral, LTV, LTC, DSCR, and exit strategy.
Review appraisals, BPOs, scopes of work, and title documentation for accuracy and compliance.
Conduct credit and background checks and assess borrower repayment capacity.
Communicate underwriting conditions clearly and assist in structuring solutions when necessary.
Collaborate with processing and closing teams to ensure accurate and timely closings.
Identify potential red flags and mitigate risk through sound structuring and thorough documentation.
Recommend exceptions to executive leadership when appropriate, supported by well-reasoned justification.
Stay current on regulatory and market guidelines impacting private lending and underwriting standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field.
5 – 7 years of underwriting experience in private, bridge, or real estate lending.
Strong analytical skills and deep understanding of loan structures, collateral, and investment metrics (LTV, LTC, DSCR, ARV).
Detail-oriented with excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Proficient in Excel and loan origination systems; thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
