The Collins Aerospace IPS in Richardson, TX has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to work in Advanced Systems on A-Kit and component electronics product development for defense applications.
The candidate will be responsible for design of A-Kit electrical hardware and associated systems for ground and airborne products & subsystems. The candidate will be performing electrical design, electrical design analysis, implementing design solutions, performing simulations, and performing analysis and testing of associated hardware in a laboratory setting.
What You Will Do:
Maintain and grow your EE skillset
PM&P (Parts, Materials & Process)
A-Kit (Alpha Kit) development selecting components that the customer approves
Designing harnesses and cables to integrate into systems including radios, aircraft, and ground C2 systems
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
Experience with power system design and analysis tools (SPICE, SIMPLIS, schematic/layout design software, MATLAB/Simulink, ADS, Hyperlynx PI)
Experience with schematic capture, block diagrams, and parts lists for complex electronics
Experience in testing electronic products using bench power supplies, signal/waveform generators, high-speed oscilloscopes, power supply stability testers, spectrum analyzers, and debugging tools
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Experience with components selection and SDRL submission
Prior Cable, Harness, and A-Kit design and implementation
Qualifications We Prefer:
Active possession of an active U.S. government issued Secret or Top Secret clearance
Experience designing airborne electronic products with attendant size, weight, power, and cost requirements
Electrical design and analysis with current software tools
Experience with high voltage and high current power conversion circuit assemblies including PCB materials, high voltage/high current transformers, inductors, FETs, ADCs, DACs, and supporting analog circuits
Experience with switched-mode power supply topologies and modeling
Experience with RF components or specifications and creating POL supplies for RF circuitry
Ability to handle fast paced and dynamic product development environment
Capable technical leader with good management and interpersonal skills
