Senior Cost Accountant
DSG-Canusa is seeking a
Senior Cost Accountant
to support the management and manufacturing teams through accurate product cost information and a strong culture of cost awareness.
Position Summary Support decision making by maintaining and analyzing product costs, providing variance analysis and partnering across functions to improve cost efficiency.
Duties
Maintain and update standard costs for all products, raw materials, freight, duty and labor.
Analyze and reconcile actual vs standard costs; identify key drivers behind variances.
Work with manufacturing personnel to improve yield and efficiency.
Prepare summary feedback of financial statement variances to budget and prior periods; establish business partner relationships with Ops, sales, engineering, etc.
Monitor and report on cost trends, cost absorption and margin performance; support Finance Manager in controlling fixed and variable costs.
Report on manufacturing variances, overhead expenses, scrap, waste & inventory valuation; compile manufacturing budget and review standard costs annually.
Synthesize data and present meaningful reports to management; perform month‑end analysis related to COGS and inventory.
Perform other duties as required to ensure the success of the business unit.
Requirements
Holding a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of related accounting experience, including 2 years in cost accounting.
Experience in standard costing within a manufacturing environment.
Experience with standard costing system implementation (preferred).
Advanced proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
Experience using AI tools (preferred).
CPA (preferred).
