About the Role The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will focus on new product and process development and play a pivotal role in ensuring a safe and successful plant launch. The role utilizes core quality skills and tools to manufacture and deliver the highest quality products within our manufacturing processes. Expect to work closely with internal and external partners to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement robust quality assurance and control processes related to Body / Welding systems for a plant start up.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality requirements are developed and seamlessly integrated within the manufacturing process.

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions to address technical and process quality issues to ensure the highest quality standards.

Perform regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications for the new car launch and plant launch.

Work closely with suppliers through the supplier quality team to establish and monitor quality expectations for incoming materials and components.

Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, and quality manuals accordingly.

Risk minimization through use of appropriate risk assessment tools and verification of the robustness of detection and prevention systems for special characteristics.

Support the development and maintenance of FMEA and control plans through the APQP methods.

Support the definition of quality processes and technical standards in cooperation with development, product management and manufacturing to ensure product quality.

Support the planning and evaluation of body dimensional and welding product testing within quality and approvals of functions and systems.

Provide quality support to the technical and manufacturing teams for body quality and weldments, as well as drive/support daily operations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (e.g., industrial, mechanical, manufacturing) or related field experience.

10+ years of experience in automotive engineering/manufacturing quality at an OEM/Tier 1.

Very good technical understanding and sound knowledge of product/vehicle development and production with focus on manufacturing and plant launch.

A successful history of engaging in the delivery of new program launches on time while achieving metrics.

Very good product and process assessment skills, problem solving and root cause capabilities.

Sound knowledge of quality management with in-depth knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control disciplines.

Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal-result-oriented decision‑making skills.

Proven track record of engaging and participating in high-performing teams.

Proficient in the use of commonly applied quality tools and processes in the automotive industry (e.g., AIAG, IATF 16949, MSA, SPC, APQP, PPAP etc.).

Good working knowledge of core documentation – FMEA’s and Control Plans.

Experience with GD&T.

High level of integrity and the ability to make data-driven decisions.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced start-up environment.
